The hospital in Harstad is located at St Olavs gate 70, directly opposite the town centre.

On foot

If you choose to walk, you can reach the hospital in about 15 minutes. Please note that Harstadgårdsveien can feel both long and steep if you have difficulty walking.

Bus and express boat

If you are coming to the hospital from Harstad town centre (from Harstad city terminal), the easiest options are:

  • Bus number 11 towards Samamoa (if you take route 11 towards Gansås, you will need to walk up Gamle kirkevei, which is steep).
  • Bus number 15 towards Fagerlia

Both bus routes depart from the closest busstop  (turn right when coming from the Harstad express boat quay).

It is recommended to use the journey planner from Troms County Traffic (Svipper). The information in the journey planner is always up to date.

If you are travelling from Narvik, the easiest way to purchase a ticket is at the Nordland Traffic app Reis.

Taxi

You can take a taxi from Harstad city terminal.

Remember that travel expenses must be agreed upon in advance with Patient Travel.

If you have received treatment, you can apply for financial support for your journey. If you require arranged transport to attend treatment, you may be entitled to a prescribed journey.

​Sykehusapotek Nord har utsalg rett ved resepsjonen, innenfor hovedinngangen. Der får du kjøpt hygieneartikler og medisiner. Husk legitimasjon med bilde når du skal hente legemidler på resept.

Café Solan is located on the ground floor and is open to staff, patients, and visitors. The café is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:00.

About Café Bothner and Café Kaarbøjordet

Self-service is arranged for admitted patients.

Meals are served from a buffet for those patients who prefer their meals served in a different manner than on a tray by the bed. The buffet is based on self-service and is tailored for dietary needs for those who require it. Patients can help themselves to food in a new staffed café, and they receive good assistance from a host if they are unable to bring the food to the table.

Kiosk

Narvesen has a kiosk at the entrance on the ground floor.

​​Kulturavdelinga arrangerer med jevne mellomrom konserter rundt lunsjtider på Kafé Solan. Alle kulturarrangementene annonseres med kulturkalender i heisene, ved inngangen til kaféen og på nettsidene.

Parking Spaces

App

Apcoa Flow is the app that should be used. Available in the App Store and Google Play Store. The Easy Park app can be used, but it incurs a 15% surcharge on the fee.

Visitor Parking

Parking Fees every day:
07:00-21:00: 32 NOK per hour 
21:00-07:00: 7 NOK per hour

Long-term visitor parking:
Maximum daily rate 250 NOK
Price from the 4th day onwards maximum 162 NOK
Price from the 8th day onwards maximum 113 NOK

It becomes cheaper the longer you park. If you pay by card and end the parking before the time is up, you can swipe your card to conclude the payment.

There are no special arrangements for inpatients or relatives who need to stay at the hospital for an extended period.

As of today, UNN does not have designated parking for motorcycles for visitors or guests.

The patient hotel in Harstad is located on the 3rd floor of the hospital.

Check-in outside the hotel’s opening hours is at the hospital's emergency reception on the ground floor.

Services

Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served in the patient hotel’s dining room. Lunch and dinner can be purchased in Café Solan (ground floor) and Café Botner on the hospital's 4th floor. We do not serve evening meals, only breakfast.

There is a TV and available Internet in all hotel rooms.

A Narvesen kiosk is located at the main entrance of the hospital.

Parking spaces are available for a fee in marked areas outside the hospital.

Vi anbefaler at du har minst mulig med deg og lar verdisaker ligge hjemme.​
